WhatsApp introduces new ‘Keep in Chat’ feature: Meta-owned instant messaging app WhatsApp launched a new feature on Friday. This feature is called Keep in Chat. This will allow WhatsApp users to long press a message in a disappearing message thread and save it.

If the user who receives the message saves it, the sender will also get its information. He will be able to decide at his convenience whether the recipient of the message should be allowed to save the message or not.
It is being told that this feature has been designed keeping in mind the privacy of the users. This extra layer of privacy protects messages from falling into the wrong hands, although there are times when there are messages that the recipient may want to protect. The sender will be notified when a recipient wants to keep the message, and the sender will have the ability to veto the decision.
The company said that if you have decided that your message can no longer be kept, your decision is final and no one can question it. The message will be deleted when the timer you set expires. That way you have the final say in how the messages you send are protected.
The messages you save on your WhatsApp will be noted with a bookmark icon, and you can view these messages in the Kept Messages folder organized by chat. The company said that the new feature will start rolling out globally soon.
