According to the report, the student's name is Syed Mazahir Ali, who hails from Hyderabad. His wife is living in India. Majlis Bachao Tehreek (MBT) spokesperson Amjad Ullah Khan has focused the attention of the administration on the protester by sharing some videos related to this incident on social media. He said that the student is doing Masters in IT from Indiana Wesley University. On February 4, some people attacked him and robbed him. The Indian Embassy has also been appealed for help through the video.
In one of the viral videos, Mazahir is seen with his face covered in blood. He is telling how and when this incident happened to him. The second video is of CCTV footage which is quite surprising. It can be clearly seen that the student was on his way with his luggage. Then suddenly three persons started following him. Suddenly he sees them and starts running ahead. The three men also ran towards him chasing him. He was badly beaten and his phone was taken away.
After this, the Indian Consulate in Chicago has said that they are in touch with the student named Saeed Mazahik Ali and his wife in India and will provide him with all necessary help.

In a post on Twitter, the Indian Consulate in Chicago wrote, “The Consulate is in touch with Syed Mazahir Ali and his wife Syeda Rukia Fatima Razvi in India and has assured all possible assistance.” The consulate has also contacted “local authorities who are investigating the matter.” This incident has happened at a time when attacks on students of Indian origin are increasing in America.
