Electric two-wheeler company Ather Energy has set a target of setting up 2,500 charging stations by the end of this year. This will help in smoothening the journey towards Electric Vehicle (EV). The company has already installed over 1,000 fast charging stations across 80 cities in the country.

The Bangalore-based company has said that the Ather Grid (charging station) has become the largest fast charging network for two-wheeler EVs in the country today. So far, 60 percent of the charging stations installed by the company have been installed in second and third tier cities.

Ravneet Phokela, Chief Business Officer, Ather Energy, said, โ€œThere is a need for a fast charging infrastructure to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles in the country. As a brand building the EV ecosystem, we have already established the largest fast charging network in the country.

Hero MotoCorp-backed Ather delivered 12,419 vehicles in January. This is its best monthly sales figure. Presently the company has its presence in 80 cities. The company aims to expand its retail reach to 100 cities by March 2023.
