Punjab Transport Minister: Punjab Transport Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar said that the transport department has recorded an increase of Rs 661.51 crore in its income during 2022-23 compared to the financial year 2021-22.
He said that during the last financial year, the department received an income of Rs 4139.59 crore from its three wings Office of State Transport Commissioner (STC), Pepsu Road Transport Corporation (PRTC) and Punjab Roadways/Punbus, which increased to Rs 3478.08 crore during the financial year 2021-22. Crore was Rs. He said that this increase in income is 19.01 percent.
Cabinet Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar, giving wing-wise details, said that the State Transport Commissioner’s office had a total income of Rs 2358.96 crore from April 2021 to March 2022, which increased to Rs 2631.18 crore during the financial year 2022-23. He said that this increase of Rs 272.22 crore is 11.53 percent.
The transport minister said that similarly, PRTC earned Rs 807.53 crore with an increase of Rs 235.49 crore during the financial year 2022-23, while this income was Rs 572.04 crore from April 2021 to March 2022. He said that this increase is 41.16 percent.
Laljit Singh Bhullar while sharing the details of the income of Punjab Roadways/Punbus said that from April 2021 to March 2022, Punjab Roadways/Punbus earned Rs 547.08 crore. This income increased to Rs 700.88 crore during the financial year 2022-23. He said that this increase of Rs 153.80 crore is 28.11 percent.
The cabinet minister said that due to the transparent policies of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the transport department is on the path of progress and by accelerating this pace, the department will be taken to new heights.
