On Tuesday, the court of Justice NS Shekhawat was hearing a habeas corpus petition filed by advocate Iman Singh Khara. In this petition, a request has been made to release Amritpal Singh from the alleged police custody. Khara had recently filed a habeas corpus petition. It has been claimed in the petition that Amritpal is in illegal custody of the police. During the hearing, Advocate General of Punjab Vinod Ghai told that Amritpal has not been arrested yet. Talking to reporters outside the court building, the petitioner said that the advocate general informed the court that they were close to nabbing Amritpal.

Amritpal in police custody?

According to the petitioner, the court asked the Advocate General to file an affidavit in this regard that Amritpal is in police custody. The court said that the state says that Amritpal was not arrested. The court told the petitioner that if he produced evidence to prove that Amritpal was in illegal detention, it would appoint a warrant officer. The next hearing in the case will be on March 29.
