The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee has demanded the resumption of scholarships given by the Government of India to students belonging to minorities. In this regard, Shiromani Committee President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami has written a letter to the country’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
It is to be noted that students belonging to minority communities were given scholarships by the Government of India under the Maulana Azad National Fellowship and Pre-Matric Scholarship, which has been discontinued since last year. On this, Shiromani Committee President Advocate Dhami has asked the government to reconsider. Advocate Dhami appealed to Prime Minister Modi to restart the closed scholarship.
