Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, president of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, has strongly condemned the insulting and assaulting the Ragi Singhs and servants inside the main court of Gurdwara Sahib by a person at Gurdwara Sri Hutt Sahib Sultanpur Lodhi and demanded strict action against the accused.

He said that the occurrence of such incidents at religious places is a matter of great concern, to which the government of Punjab should pay close attention. He said that in this incident that happened yesterday in the Gurdwara Sahib of Sultanpur Lodhi, a person tried to attack the attendants and Ragi Singhs.

This person came inside the Gurdwara Sahib and after bowing down started challenging the Ragi Singhs. Meanwhile, when stopped by the attendants, he tried to attack the attendants and Rag Singhs with a small kirpan. He said that with what intention this person had come, the police administration should investigate seriously.

He asked the Punjab government to take concrete steps against such incidents. The Shiromani Committee president said that unfortunate incidents are coming to the fore in the gurdwara sahibs in the state again and again and the concern is that the government mechanism is not reaching the real forces behind it.

Meanwhile, Secretary of the Shiromani Committee. Pratap Singh said that the accused of Gurdwara Sri Hatt Sahib Sultanpur Lodhi incident was caught by the guards of Gurdwara Sahib and handed over to the police. The police have booked against him under section 295-A and 323.
