A tragic road accident took place at Pathankot GT Road and Milk Plant intersection this afternoon in which a youth died and a 15-year-old girl and a 10-year-old boy were seriously injured. According to the information, Ajepal village Narpur who lived in front of Milk Plant Gurdaspur near his uncle left home on his scooter with his uncle’s 15-year-old daughter Jessica and his uncle’s 10-year-old boy Kulwant. He collided with a truck loaded with goods coming from Gurdaspur side.
One of the tires of the truck ran over Ajay Pal, so his body was severely crushed and he died on the spot, while his uncle’s daughter Jessica and uncle’s son Kulwant were seriously injured and are being treated. First he was admitted to a civil hospital and then to a private hospital in the city. On the other hand, after the accident, the truck driver immediately escaped from the spot.
Harmesh Kumar, sub-inspector of Police Station City Gurdaspur, who reached the spot, said that on receiving the information, the police party along with the spot has reached the spot and the body of the deceased Ajaypal has been sent for post-mortem. He said that the footage of the nearby CCTV cameras is being checked to identify the unknown truck.
