A terrible fire broke out at 3.30 pm in a pharmaceutical factory called Quality Pharmaceutical Limited located in Nagkal on Majitha Road in Amritsar. About 500 chemical drums in the factory exploded one after another due to the fire. In this accident, 4 people died, while many people were seriously burnt.

It is being told that 1600 workers were working in the factory at the time of the incident. After the fire, there was a stampede. 80 fire tenders, including Air Force vehicles, brought 80 per cent of the fire under control by 9:30 pm. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. According to the factory owner, around 1600 employees work in the factory.

As soon as the fire was reported, all the employees were taken out safely. He said that the cause of the fire has not yet been ascertained. How the fire started will be known only by looking at the CCTV inside the factory. He said that around 500 chemical drums were lying inside the factory, most of which were destroyed. He said that there has been a loss of lakhs due to the fire.

District Fire Officer Dilbagh Singh said that as soon as the fire was reported, the vehicles of the fire brigade reached the spot and brought the fire under control after much difficulty. The employees of the fire department had to face a lot of trouble while extinguishing the fire in the pharmaceutical factory. Initially, only smoke came out due to the fire.

Fire department personnel could not enter the factory due to smoke. As soon as the smoke subsided, the workers brought the fire under control. A woman named Tripta, who lives near Batala, said that her son works in a factory. The son reaches home at six in the evening, but there is still no sign of him.
