A person died in Haryana DGP’s vehicle, the family of the deceased will get compensation

The Motor Accident Claims Tribunal at Chandigarh District Court has awarded a compensation of Rs 58.59 lakh to the family of Daljit Singh, a resident of Mohali, who lost his life in a road accident 3 years ago. Daljit died in a road accident in Mohali on 6 July 2020.

His motorcycle was hit by a jeep. This jeep belonged to DGP of Haryana, which was being driven by its driver Hanumant. Daljit’s family had filed a case against Hanumant, DGP Haryana and the insurance company.

The tribunal directed the insurance company to pay the compensation amount. Advocate Ashwini Arora filed a case on behalf of the victim’s family. He said during the debate that Daljit was only 40 years old at the time of the accident and the entire family was responsible for him.

He had a PG Diploma in Mass Communication and was working as a Data Entry Operator in Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University Fatehgarh Sahib. Therefore, the family demanded a compensation of 70 lakh rupees from the tribunal.

Let us tell you that according to the petition, Daljit was going to the Phase-7 market on a motorcycle on 6th July 2020 around 8.30 am. A Bolero jeep hit his motorcycle near the light point of Phase-3/4. According to the police, the jeep driver was driving at high speed. Daljit was badly injured in this accident. After which he was taken to Phase-7 Hospital from where he was referred to PGI where he died during treatment.
