SGPC on non-Sikh as the administrator of Takht Sri Hazur Sahib: Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, president of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, expressed strong objection to the appointment of a non-Sikh as the manager of Takht Sri Hazur Sahib Nanded Board and demanded to withdraw this decision. The President of Shiromani Committee has registered his protest by sending an email to the Chief Minister of Maharashtra Government Mr. Eknath Sambhaji Shinde.

Advocate Dhami said that appointing a non-Sikh officer as the administrator of Gurdwara Board, Takht Sachkhand Sri Hazur Abchalnagar Sahib, Nanded is not in accordance with Sikh sentiments and ethics. There is a huge protest in the Sikh community against this decision of the Maharashtra government.

He said that the role of the Takht Sahibs within the Sikh community is to lead and give instructions from time to time for the implementation of Sikh ethics, so no non-Sikh person can be accepted as the manager of the management board of the Takht Sahib. He said that how a non-Sikh person can run the management of Gurdwara Sahibs according to Sikh sentiments. He told the Chief Minister of Maharashtra that this is an anti-Sikh decision, which should be withdrawn immediately.

The Shiromani Committee president has also demanded to hold elections for Gurdwara Board, Takht Sachkhand Sri Hazur Abchalnagar Sahib Nanded. He said that the tenure of the Takht Sri Hazur Sahib Board has been completed in March 2022. This election has been pending for the past one year. The Shiromani Committee, being the representative religious organization of the Sikh community, has demanded this many times before.

Advocate Dhami said that the Maharashtra government should not take arbitrary decisions in the affairs of Sikhs and till the election, a full Gur Sikh person should be appointed as the manager of the Takht Sahib Board.
