CPFEU/NMOPS is continuously campaigning across the country including Punjab for the restoration of old pension scheme. Due to CPFEU’s announcement of opposition to Jalandhar by-election and decision to hold a meeting with the Chief Minister, the Jalandhar administration today called a delegation of the CPF Employees Union to the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that the government is ready to restore the old pension scheme, but the state government is trying to withdraw the funds of about 18000 thousand crore rupees from the employees with the central government, but the arguments put forward by the union state president Sukhjit Singh. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that he will restore the old pension scheme by taking action at his level.

The union asked that you restore the old pension scheme immediately. To get back the money that we have with the central government, we will take it back by fighting against the central government because NMOPS has intensified the old pension restoration struggle across the country. According to which, on 16-04-2023, pension constitutional march is being conducted in all districts across the country and other communal level programs have been given.

After which Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that he will soon take a decision on this and restore the old pension scheme.

The union said in clear words that if the pension is not restored before the Jalandhar by-election, the CPF employees’ union will strongly oppose the government in the Punjab by-election.
