One laborer was killed while two others were seriously injured when a wall collapsed while removing debris from a shop in Anaj Mandi in Patiala. The injured have been admitted to Rajindra Hospital in Patiala for treatment.
According to information, a dhaba owner in Mandi had given a contract to demolish the old building to level the place next to him, to remove it, a wall fell on a laborer this morning, due to which he died. Two workers were seriously injured in this accident.
On this occasion, the family members of the deceased Harjit Singh said that the deceased has two children and he used to earn his living by doing labour. He said that the economic situation of the family is very weak. The local people have demanded financial help from the administration and social service organizations of the poor family.
On the other hand, contractor Balwinder Singh said that they do the work of removing debris. Harjit has died in the accident that happened this morning. They will certainly help as much as they can. On the other hand, when we tried to talk to the police officers about it, they refused to speak anything in front of the camera.
