It is being told that the work of laying railway track was going on in Mullanpur, due to which the goods train was carrying goods such as iron girders. A few boxes derailed while changing forks. After which there was a commotion in the railway department.
The loco pilot immediately applied the emergency brake
According to the information received, the loco pilot immediately stopped the train by applying emergency brakes. He immediately informed the higher officials of the railway. The ART (Accident Relief Train) team from Ludhiana railway station reached the spot. After the accident, the traffic towards Ferozepur was slightly disrupted.
Railway officials are investigating
Railway officials are investigating how the goods train left the railway track. The senior railway officials will prepare a report on the matter and submit it to the division officials. After this accident, the movement of trains on the Ferozepur line was stopped. By late night, senior officials of the railway department were present at the spot. Efforts to put the freight train coaches on the tracks were going on till late night.
Fortunately, there was no loss of life after the goods train derailed.
