Neena Singh has become the first Sikh and Indian-American woman to be sworn in as the mayor of Montgomery Township in the US state of New Jersey. He was sworn in on January 4 by Representative Bonnie Watson Coleman. Neena Singh, who has lived in Montgomery for 24 years, was unanimously elected by her fellow township committee members to serve as mayor.

Mayor Neena Singh said it is a great honor to be sworn in as the first Indian-American Sikh woman mayor in New Jersey. What energizes and motivates me is the spirit of service, he said. Neena Singh thanked for the opportunities given in Montgomery Township. Among Mayor Neena Singh's priorities for 2024 are public safety and health.
