Army has killed five terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam. Army together with Jammu and Kashmir Police Joint operation (Joint Operation) was running. The army has achieved great success in the operations so far. Jawans have killed five terrorists of Lashkar-e-Taiba. Friday is the second day of the anti-terror operation in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam district. To prevent the terrorists from escaping, the security forces have taken steps like tightening the cordon of the area.
After overnight peace, firing broke out in Samano area of Nehama in Kulgam on Friday morning. Based on intelligence about the presence of terrorists in the area, the operation was initially launched as a cordon and search operation in Nehama village of Kulgam. The situation worsened when the militants opened fire on the security personnel, which turned the search operation into an encounter.
Two local and one foreign terrorist are likely to be hiding
However, the security forces have made a tight cordon around the area where the terrorists are likely to be holed up. The operation was temporarily halted overnight. Currently, there is no news of any loss of life from the army team. According to sources Lashkar-e-Toiba Three terrorists were likely to be trapped in the surrounding area, out of which two are local and one foreigner. However, the authorities are yet to confirm whether there were actually only five terrorists or more terrorists are hiding in the forest.

The army-police team was engaged in search of terrorists
According to reports, the army personnel started a search operation in the forest areas in search of the terrorists. The terrorists allegedly started firing on seeing the jawans. After this search team surrounded the area from all sides to catch the terrorists. Teams of Army’s 34 Rashtriya Rifles, 9 Para Special Forces, Police and CRPF are involved in the joint operation.
