The Faridkot court has refused to return to the Moga police the official gypsy prepared by the police officers for giving false testimony against the protesting Sikh community in the Behbal shooting incident. After the death of two Sikh youths in the Behbal shooting incident, the police officers present at the scene shot their own gypsy and later claimed that the protestors fired at the police, which hit the gypsy. . This Gypsy belonged to the security personnel of former SSP Moga Charanjit Sharma.
The Moga police had filed a petition seeking the custody of the Gypsy pending trial, but the Special Investigation Team said that this was the most important evidence of false cases against the top police officials on Sangat. So this gypsy should remain with the investigation team. The court has rejected the Moga police’s application refusing to grant Gypsy’s extradition.
Sumedh Saini, Paramraj Singh Umranangal and former SSP Charanjit Sharma did not appear personally in the Behbal shooting incident. The court has fixed the next date of this case on August 19 and has also called for a complete report of the challans presented in the Kotakpura and Behbal shooting incident from the District Magistrate.
