Thane. Cyber ​​criminals duped a 27-year-old software developer of about Rs 3.5 lakh on the pretext of a part-time job in Airoli, Navi Mumbai. The police gave this information on Saturday.

An official said that a case of cheating has been registered against an unknown person at Kamothe police station on Friday in this connection. The accused had offered a part-time job to the victim in February this year, promising to pay handsomely if she liked some YouTube channels and invested in crypto currency, the official said.

According to the officer, “Though the victim initially received some amount, later he stopped receiving the money. When the victim realized that he had been cheated, he approached the police and lodged a complaint. According to the official, the fraudsters duped the victim of around Rs 3.49 lakh. He said that the investigation of the matter is going on.
