The accident took place when the XUV car fell into the UBDC canal of Madhopur near Pathankot district. It is being told that due to the high speed of the water in the canal, one body was removed at night while 2 bodies were removed from the canal in the morning during a joint operation of the NDRF and the police administration.

5 employees who fell in the canal work in Pathankot branch of Punjab National Bank. Because of the Sunday holiday, they went out for a walk. The names of those who survived the accidents are Prince Raj from Bihar and Surinder Kumar from Rajasthan. Those who died in the accident have been identified as Ashok Kumar, Vishal and Ajay Babul of Mirajpur.

Accident caused by the driver

Dharkala DSP (DSP) Rajinder Manhas said that according to the statements of the people who survived the accident, the driver was not experienced. While returning from the bank of Mirzapur canal, the driver pressed the accelerator instead of the brake. Due to which the balance of the vehicle was disturbed and the vehicle fell into the canal. The accident happened because of the driver.
