4 accused of brutalizing women arrested in Manipur: People blew up one's house

So far, 4 accused have been arrested in the case of making women wander on the road in a naked state. Chief Minister N. Biren Singh has said that the government will make all possible efforts to get the death penalty for all the accused. At the same time, the mob set fire to the house of an accused on Thursday (July 20) evening.

The incident of women’s nude parade took place on May 4 in Kangpokpi district, about 35 km from the capital Imphal. Its video went viral on social media on July 19 (Wednesday).

In the video, it is seen that some people are exposing two women and doing obscene acts with them.

Demonstrations started in Manipur’s Churachandpur on Thursday (July 21) in protest against this incident. Thousands of people protested wearing black clothes and demanded the arrest of the culprits.

Aditya Thackeray, leader of Shiv Sena (Thackare faction) said – The incident is very unfortunate. Manipur government should be dissolved and President’s rule should be installed there.
SP MP Dimple Yadav said that why BJP is not taking strict action against the accused? Why is the government silent on the most important issues?
Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi said that women and children bear the brunt of violence in the society.

The Supreme Court said – the government should take steps, otherwise we will take them
In the case of women being paraded naked, the Supreme Court said that we are very upset after seeing the video. We give time to the government to take action. If nothing happens there, we will take action.

CJI DY Chandrachud said that using women as a tool during communal conflict can never be accepted. This is the most heinous affront to the Constitution. The next hearing of the case will be held on July 28.
