Bureau Report: 2 youths have died very painfully in Hoshiarpur. 2 youths have died while bathing in the canal in village Sohra Kandi. The age of both the youths is said to be 17 to 18 years. The deceased youth have been identified as Abhey and Nikhil.
DSP Kulwinder Singh Virk said that two children were declared dead due to drowning in the canal in the private hospital of Mukeria. Virk said that both the youths also knew how to swim and they went to bathe in the canal every day. When the children were drowning, many people tried to save them but they could not succeed.
The people present at the spot said that when they saw the children drowning, they were pulled out but both of them had become unconscious. When they were taken to a private hospital, the doctors declared both of them brought dead. The police is conducting a postmortem of both the youths. But the big question is that if both the young men knew how to swim and they used to come to the canal to bathe almost every day, then what happened that they drowned. Did something hit both of them during the bath, did they faint or was there a poisonous snake or worm in the water due to which Abhey and Nikhil died? At present, all this will be cleared only after the post-mortem report.
