2 more Scheduled Caste certificates have been canceled by the Punjab Government. Social Justice Empowerment and Minority Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur ordered to cancel and confiscate the certificate. The fake Schedule Caste certificate holders were identified as Balwinder Kumar son of Chaman Lal, resident of Mamdot, Ferozepur and Jasbir Kaur daughter of Kehar Singh, Hindi teacher, Government Middle School, Jandpur, SAS Nagar.
Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur said that both the fake certificates of the Scheduled Castes were found to be fake in the investigation of the state level committee, after which they were rejected by the committee.
Jasveer Singh Pamali Member Core Committee Sri Guru Ravidas Federation, Village Pamali, Ludhiana has given a complaint to the Punjab State Scheduled Caste Commission. In the complaint, Balwinder Kumar’s Scheduled Caste certificate was said to be fake. On this basis, Balwinder Kumar got a degree in agriculture and a job at Guru Angad Dev University of Veterinary Sciences, Ludhiana.
Balveer Singh son of Nirmal Singh village Alampur Patiala filed a complaint with the Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission. In this, Jasveer Kaur, a Hindi teacher of Government Middle School of Jandpur village of SAS Nagar, got a Scheduled Caste certificate despite belonging to Jat Sikh caste.
The complaints were handed over to the investigation department, then on the report of the vigilance cell, it was confirmed that the Scheduled Caste certificates of Balwinder Kumar and Jasveer Kaur were fake. After this, a decision was taken to cancel both the certificates.
Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur said that the department had written to the DC of Ferozepur and asked Balwinder Kumar’s Scheduled Caste Certificate No. 471 dated 14 January 1993 and the DC of SAS Nagar to confiscate Jasveer Kaur’s Scheduled Caste Certificate No. 151 dated 20 July 1990.
