Bureau Report: The Punjab Police has formed an SIT to investigate the objectionable video of the Punjab government minister. DIG Narendra Bhargava will be the chief of SIT along with 2 other members named IPS Dhyama Harish Kumar who is the SSP of Gurdaspur, apart from this SSP of Pathankot Harkamalpreet Singh has also been included in the SIT. This SIT team has been formed on the basis of the instructions of the Governor and the National SC Commission. The complainant complained to the National SC Commission against the minister and claimed that his life was in danger. After which, on Friday, the S Commission had written a letter to the DGP Punjab and instructed to investigate it.

SIT will provide protection to the victim

The SIT will fully cooperate with the SC commission in the investigation of the video surveillance case and will provide protection to the victim, apart from this, the SIT will remain in touch with the victim during the investigation. SIT has been constituted by AIT Bureau of Investigation. On May 5, the victim himself came forward and said that the video is 10 years old, he also mentioned the name of the minister and said that he is receiving death threats. The victim had also claimed that even then the minister used to scare him and do wrong with him.

Opponents demanded his resignation

Senior Congress leader Sukhpal Singh Khaira had first submitted the minister’s video to Governor Banwari Lal Purohit and requested a forensic investigation. After which Sukhpal Singh Khaira claimed that the video has been proved correct in the Forensic report and now action should be taken against the minister. In the video, Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia and BJP also surrounded the government and demanded the resignation and arrest of the minister in the case of physically abusing a minor.

SC commission notice to Punjab government in video case

Taking strict notice of the complaint of sexual harassment by the Minister of Punjab, the National Scheduled Caste Commission (NCSC) Chairman Vijay Sampla issued a notice to the officials of the Punjab government on May 5 and asked them to submit a report on the action. In a video message and letter to the NCSC, the victim sought justice as well as protection, saying the minister was now threatening to kill her. The Commission asked the Punjab Chief Secretary and Director General of Police (Punjab) to investigate the matter and submit a fact-based action report. The commission has also asked the authorities to provide protection to the victim. Sampla had warned the officials that if the action report was not received within the stipulated time, the commission could exercise the powers of a civil court under Article 338 of the Constitution of India and issued summons to appear before the commission in person in Delhi. can do
