Today, preparations are being made by 18 farmers’ organizations of Punjab and Haryana to surround the Deputy Commissioner offices of the respective districts. In fact, after the strictness of the Supreme Court and the National Green Tribunal, the state governments have taken strict steps regarding the stubble burning cases. Aggrieved by the fines and registration of FIRs, the farmers have appealed to the government to withdraw the decision.
Sarwan Singh Pandher, the leader of the Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee, has accused the Punjab government of presenting wrong concepts to the farmers before the Supreme Court and the NGT. Such issues were also put before people, after which the image of farmers has been damaged.
Everyone knows that industry is the biggest cause of pollution. Sarwan Singh said that these are official figures only. In which it is clearly stated that 51 percent of pollution is caused by industries. Despite this, the blame is being put on the farmers.
