As a result of the government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Maan providing transparent, hassle-free and corruption-free services, the amount of money transferred from the land and property registries to the treasury of the Punjab government in the first 5 months of the financial year 2023-24 was less than that of the previous year. 13 percent more money has come in compared to the competition.

Punjab Revenue Minister Bram Shankar Jimpa has said that from April 2023 to August 2023, the Punjab government has received an income of Rs 1811.14 crore from land and property registries. Last year in 2022, the same income was Rs 1605.49 crore. Thus, this increase is 13 percent. He said that Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has given clear guidelines that corruption should not be tolerated at any level.

Gimpa said that a target of Rs 4700 crore revenue from registries has been set during the year 2023-24 and meaningful efforts are being made to achieve it. New appointments are being made in the revenue department and educated young men and women are being given employment. He said that all appointments are being made by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on the basis of pure merit, which is showing good results. The newly appointed boys and girls are doing their work with full honesty, diligence and corruption free.

The revenue minister said that in the past, the common people were very unhappy with the working methods of the revenue department, but since one and a half years, people are getting smooth and good services. He appealed that people should support the government to further strengthen the treasury of the state and no bribe should be given to any officer/employee for any legitimate work and if any officer/employee of the revenue department asks for money in exchange for any work. Feel free to complain about it. The accused will not be spared under any circumstances.
