Online Food delivery platform Zomato on Thursday said it is creating ‘rest points’ for its delivery boys. In a blog post, the company’s founder and chief executive officer (CEO) Deepinder Goyal said that it already has two ‘rest points’ in Gurugram. The company plans to make more ‘rest points’. Rest points provide clean drinking water, phone-charging stations, washroom facilities, high-speed internet, round-the-clock helpdesk and first aid assistance.

However, Goyal did not reveal the number or location of these. In his blog post, Goyal said, “We recognize that delivery partners face many challenges in the course of their work. While walking on the road, they have to see what is the location of the delivery. Also, they have to deliver orders on time even when the weather is bad.

Company’s loss has increased

Zomato’s net loss for the third quarter of the current financial year has increased further. Zomato’s consolidated net loss widened to Rs 346.6 crore for the December quarter of the current financial year. Let us tell you that due to increasing losses of Zomato, the company has stopped its operation in 225 small cities. The company said that in terms of business, the performance of these cities was ‘not very encouraging’.
