There are many reports about Dayaben’s return in ‘Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma’, one of the most popular shows of TV. Recently some reports claimed that the show’s producer Asit Modi has got a new Dayaben and the shooting has also started.
When Dainik Bhaskar talked to Asit Modi about this, he dismissed these reports outright and told the whole truth.
Auditions are going on, but no finals yet
Regarding Dayaben’s character, Asit Modi said, ‘Yes, we are constantly auditioning. But no one has been finalized till now. Yes, it is true that we are trying to bring Dayaben back as soon as possible, but there is no sure thing right now.
When we asked if an actress was finalized, she said, ‘No, nothing like this has happened yet. This is a long process, every day we see new people, but we will not hurry until we get the right face.
Some reports were claiming that the shooting of the new Dayaben had started. To this, Asit Modi said, ‘No, it is wrong to start shooting. When something like this happens, you will know first. ‘

How long will the audience get to see new Dayaben? Asit Modi said, ‘I think it will take some time. Perhaps a month and a half month. I myself want Dayaben’s character to return as soon as possible. I am still waiting for the return of Disha Vakani.

Why is the new casting of Dayaben’s character a big challenge? Asit Modi said, ‘Look, Disha Vakani was a wonderful actress. It is not easy to bring anyone to the place where he took this character. It has been seven years, but even today people remember them. We have very few female comedy artists here and it is not a matter of everyone to give such performance.

How involved is Asit Modi himself in search of Dayaben? On this, he said, ‘Of course. The audition has been going on for the last six months and I am involved in every step. Being the creator of the show, I have to fulfill this responsibility myself. My team is also working hard, but the final decision will be mine.
Why Disha Wakani left the show?
Actress Disha Vakani became popular with Dayaben’s character in ‘Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma’. She went to Maternity Leave in 2018 and has not returned to the show since then. Even after the birth of the daughter, there were many reports about her return, but nothing has been finalized so far.
