Volkswagen to Refund Rs 60 Lakh to Audi Q7 Owner in Tamil Nadu for Service Faults Details

The Tamil Nadu Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission has ordered Volkswagen to refund Rs 60 lakh to an Audi Q7 owner. According to a report, the SUV owner’s 2009 model Audi Q7 was facing recurring brake-related issues since 2014. When Audi failed to resolve the issue even after several complaints, the Q7 owner finally approached the court.

Economic Times report (Via TOIAccording to ), the Tamil Nadu Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission has directed Volkswagen Group to refund the full purchase cost of Rs 60 lakh to the Q7 owner as well as Rs 25,000 towards the cost of the case. After a near-miss accident at Kallakaruchi, it was revealed that the car had a ‘brake system failure’ problem, which was reportedly rectified by the service centre.

However, reports suggest that the owner of the Audi Q7 3.0 TDI Quattro continued to face brake-related issues even after getting the service done for Rs 2.4 lakh. Frequently Complaint And after the company failed to rectify the problem, the owner approached the commission for Alpha compensation of Rs 30 and replacement of the vehicle.

The report further suggests that the car had driven only 42,036 kms since it was purchased and was not used sparingly. Based on this, the lawyers argued that the problem was inherent.

Meanwhile, the company and the dealership denied the alleged incident of brake failure and denied that the problem was a manufacturing defect. Nevertheless, the bench, ruling against the Volkswagen Group, ordered a huge layoff.
