Vinesh Phogat has written an open letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and announced to return his Khel Ratna Award and Arjuna Award. Before Vinesh Phogat, Bajrang Punia had also announced to return the Padma Shri award.
Vinesh Phogat wrote in his open letter that Prime Minister, Sakshi Malik has quit wrestling and Bajrang Punia has returned the Padma Shri. The wrestlers have been protesting for a long time
Let us tell you that many wrestlers including Sakshi Malik, Bajrang Punia, Vinesh Phogat had opened a front against Brij Bhushan Singh, the former president of the Indian Wrestling Association for a long time. After protest by the wrestlers, the Sports Ministry rejected the new committee and removed the entire committee including Sanjay Singh. The wrestlers had welcomed the removal of the new committee, but despite all this, the wrestlers have continued to return their prizes.
