Vigilance caught the forest guard red-handed while taking bribe

Punjab Anti-Corruption Campaign: During its anti-corruption campaign, the Punjab Vigilance Bureau has arrested Amarjit Kaur, resident of Bagha Purana, a forest guard posted at Badghar Forest Beat of Moga district, red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs.10,000.

Giving information in this regard, the spokesperson of Vigilance Bureau said that this case has been registered against the said female employee on the complaint of Gurmeet Singh of Mangewala village of Moga district.

Giving details, he said that the complainant has alleged that the said forest employee had demanded a bribe of Rs 15,000 each against him and his neighbor for not imposing a heavy fine for laying water pipes in the forest land. The complainant further alleged that the deal was fixed at Rs 10,000 each. He further said that the complainant recorded the entire conversation in this regard on his mobile phone.

The spokesperson further said that the Vigilance Unit of Ferozepur range investigated the allegations made in the complaint and laid a trap and caught the accused female employee red-handed while taking a bribe of Rs 10,000 from the complainant in the presence of two government witnesses.

In this regard, a case of corruption has been registered against the said employee at Vigilance Police Station Ferozepur. The accused woman will be produced in the competent court of Ferozepur tomorrow. He said that further investigation of this matter is going on.
