Vigilance arrested a sub fire officer on the charge of taking bribe

The Punjab Vigilance Bureau today arrested Sub Fire Officer Rana Narinder Singh posted at Malerkotla on the charge of accepting a bribe of Rs 12,500 from a resident of Sherpur village in Sangrur district.

Giving information in this regard, the official spokesperson of Vigilance Bureau said that this sub fire officer has been arrested on the complaint of Lovely Singh resident of village Sherpur.

He further said that the complainant filed a complaint at the Police Station Vigilance Bureau, Patiala Range that the said officer had already taken a bribe of Rs 1,70,000 for getting him a job in the Fire Services Department. Now he demanded another Rs 12,500 for the police verification of the complainant.

The spokesperson said that after the preliminary investigation of this complaint, the team of Vigilance Bureau, Patiala Range laid a trap and arrested the said Sub Fire Officer in the presence of two government witnesses by taking a bribe of Rs 12,500 from the complainant.
