Hyderabad: In Mahbubabad district of Telangana, the incident of stone pelting by unknown persons on the Vande Bharat Express going from Secunderabad to Visakhapatnam has come to light on Friday. Railway officials gave this information.
He said that Railway Protection Force (RPF) has taken cognizance of the matter and investigation is on. On the question of damage to Vande Bharat Express or broken window panes, officials told PTI, “It (damage) will be assessed when the train reaches Visakhapatnam.”

Officials said on the basis of preliminary investigation that it is suspected that some children might have pelted stones at the train, but the investigation is on. An official said that the matter is being investigated and the Railway Police has registered a suo motu case.
Significantly, even before the official launch of Vande Bharat last month, stones were pelted at the coaches of this train at the railway yard in Visakhapatnam, due to which a window glass was broken. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had flagged off this train through digital medium on January 15. (agency)
