On Saturday, the mastermind and his associate of the paper leak gang were arrested for demanding Rs 12-15 lakh in the name of passing students in the recruitment examination for government jobs in Uttarakhand. Police gave this information.
Nawet Singh Bhullar, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Special Task Force (STF), said, two days ago we were informed that some students had contacted some people and promised to pass the exam.
The police and STF investigated the case and found that a person named Pankaj Gaur approached six students and demanded Rs 12-15 lakh in exchange for the success in the examination.
The SSP said that during interrogation, Pankaj Gaur said that he was in touch with the mastermind of the paper leak gang. Bhullar said that a case was registered against both of them at Patel Nagar police station and Pankaj Gaur and Hakam Singh were arrested.
He said that the police also has an audio recording, in which the accused can be heard asking for Rs 15 lakh from a candidate. This exam is to be held on Sunday.
SSP of Dehradun Ajay Singh said, “Since strict anti-copy law has been implemented in the state, police, STF and intelligence units are very vigilant during recruitment examinations.
