Uber to have 25,000 electric sedans in its fleet, Tata Motors to supply EVs

Global automobile company Tata Motors said on Monday that the company has made a big deal related to environment friendly transportation. Under this, 25,000 XPRES-T electric vehicles will be supplied to Uber, which provides cab services through the app. These electric sedans will be used by Uber in its premium category of service. The XPRES-T’s batteries are 26 kWh and 25.5 kWh. It can be charged from 0-80 percent in 59 minutes and 110 minutes respectively using fast charging.

These EVs joining the Uber fleet will be used in Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad and Bengaluru. Tata Motors The supply of cars from the side will start from this month. However, information about the size of this deal has not been given. Prices for the XPRES-T start at Rs 13.04 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Its range is about 315 kilometers. FAME subsidy of Rs 2.6 lakh is available on this. Despite this, Tata Motors has retained the number one position with a market share of over 70 percent. According to the Federation of Automobile Dealers Association, 3,346 electric cars were sold in January. In December, this figure was 3,739 units. Sales of electric four-wheelers as well as electric three-wheelers have declined, while the two-wheeler segment has remained almost flat. Tata Motors reported a decline of nearly 17 per cent in January sales at 2,426 units. The company’s Nexon EV is the best seller in this segment.

Recently Tata Motors has reduced the price of Nexon EV. The company has cut the prices of all nine models of its Prime and Max variants by up to Rs 85,000. The starting price of Nexon EV Prime has come down to Rs 14.49 lakh and that of Nexon EV Max has come down to Rs 16.49 lakh.
