On the occasion of the last prayer for Indian Army soldier Pradeep Singh, a resident of Ballamgarh village of Samana constituency, who was martyred during the terrorist attack at Anantnag in Kashmir, Chief Minister S. During the commemoration ceremony in the name of Shaheed, he said that the entire country will always be indebted to the unparalleled sacrifice of the martyr. Reiterating the Punjab government’s firm commitment to help the families of the soldiers who laid down their lives in the service of the motherland, he said that the great sacrifice rendered by the martyr would motivate his fellow soldiers to perform their duty with even more zeal and dedication.

The cabinet minister said that 99 lakh rupees will be spent by the Punjab government on various works in the village in memory of the martyr. He said that the Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann had announced a few days ago that Martyr’s wife Seema Rani would be appointed as an assistant professor at the public college according to her qualifications and this appointment has been made. Along with this, the Chief Minister also handed over a check of one crore rupees to the family as a tribute to the unparalleled sacrifice made by this hero for the country.

Jaudamajra said that the newly built block at Public College Samana along with the name of the primary school of the village will be named after the martyr. A new community hall will be constructed in the name of the martyr at a cost of Rs 20 lakh, a library at a cost of Rs 16 lakh and a stadium at a cost of Rs 18 lakh. Apart from this, the Bhawanigarh-Kulara-Ballamgarh road will also be named after the martyr and a memorial gate will be constructed on the Bhawanigarh road with 10 lakh rupees. Apart from this, the road leading to Baba Amar Das Dera will be paved at a cost of Rs. 31 lakh, including paving the cemetery at a cost of Rs. 4 lakh.

It is worth mentioning that 19 RR. Sikh Light Infantry jawan Pradeep Singh was martyred on September 13 during a search operation against terrorists at Anantnag (Jammu and Kashmir). The minister said that this martyrdom is an irreparable loss for the country, Punjab and especially for the families of the martyrs.
