Ferozepur: The police has taken action in the case of the death of an electrical worker due to electrocution from a transformer near Sukar canal in Ferozepur city of Punjab. On the complaint of the deceased’s wife, the police have registered a case against Rajinder Kumar, junior engineer of the electricity department, assistant lineman Ashwani Kumar and assistant lineman Sudhir.

The people of the area had filed a complaint of power failure in the Sukar canal area. Jyoti was sent by the department to fix the electricity. Jyoti was the first to connect the broken wire below. After this he climbed the pole with the ladder and got electrocuted. He started to burn after being caught in the current.

The deceased was working in the department for many years

The police-administrative officials who arrived on receiving the information about the incident tried to explain to the people, but the people persisted in demanding action against the guilty officials and employees of the electricity department.

The deceased’s wife said that her husband was working as a manual laborer in the electricity department for the past several years. In such a case, the department is responsible for his death. The wife of the deceased said that on the orders of the DC, Red Cross Secretary Ashok Bahl has given a check of 50 thousand rupees as financial help, but Jyoti will not return.
