The bus driver hit the brakes suddenly and the pregnant woman fell down and got seriously injured. People admitted her to Sri Guru Gobind Singh Medical Hospital, where the woman succumbed to her injuries. With the death of the woman, the unborn child also died.
Sadhu Singh, father-in-law of 25-year-old Simranjit Kaur, has filed a complaint in Kulgari police station. In which it is stated that the entire family was sitting in a bus to pay obeisance at Darbar Sahib Amritsar. At half past five in the morning, the bus reached Kulgari, the driver was driving the bus fast. Suddenly, a tractor trolley came in front of the bus and the driver suddenly hit the brakes, in which pregnant Simranjit Kaur was seriously injured, who was taken to the medical college for treatment, where the daughter-in-law died on the third day of treatment.
ASI Kulwant Singh of Kulgari police station said that based on the complaint, a case has been registered against the driver of the bus, Baljit Singh, under various sections of the IPC.
