The Transport Minister warned the vehicle drivers, if they don't pay heed, there may be a heavy fine

Punjab Transport Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar today appealed to people to install high security registration number plates on their vehicles. In a press statement issued here, the Transport Minister said that according to the orders of the Supreme Court and the notification of the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, it is mandatory to install High Security Number Plate (HSRP) on the vehicles.

Under these guidelines, high security number plates have been made mandatory for all vehicles in the state of Punjab. He said that in case of not doing so, along with the challan, a heavy fine may also have to be paid.

He said that the Punjab government has opened separate centers for installation of high security number plates for the convenience of people. Apart from this, the facility of installing high security number plates by going to the house has also been provided which people can take advantage of.

He said that in the past, a campaign was launched through various media to make people aware about wearing high security number plates, due to which most of the people have worn high security registration number plates on their vehicles. He again appealed to the people to make sure to put high security registration number plates on their vehicles.
