The strike of cab drivers in Chandigarh, which has been going on for the last nine days, finally ended on Saturday. The administration agreed to accept most of the cab drivers’ demands, so they called off the strike. Cab drivers Amandeep Singh and Inderjit Mann were on hunger strike from the first day at the rally ground of Sector-25.

On Saturday, Transport Director Pradyuman Singh and State Transport Authority (STS) Secretary Rupesh Kumar reached the rally ground and gave juice to the two union leaders and ended the hunger strike. Also assured that efforts will be made to fulfill all their demands and will also talk to the aggregator companies.

As soon as the strike ended, orders were also issued by the administration. In this, the administration has appealed to the people that they have given license to the two aggregator companies Ola and Uber for cab service in the city, so they should only book cabs with yellow number plates of these two companies. Do not book cabs from unregistered companies.

Do not travel in cabs and bike taxis with white number plates. If caught doing this, action will be taken against both the driver and the passenger. Transport Director Pradyuman Singh, who arrived at the rally ground, said that the administration is serious about all the demands of the cab drivers. He said that all their demands will be taken care of in the new aggregator policy. Operators registered under the old policy will now be registered under the new policy, which will solve their problems permanently.
