The benchmark Sensex rose by 46.78 points, or 0.08 per cent, to 55,990.99 on Thursday. Similarly, the wide-based National Stock Exchange index Nifty rose by 16.80 points, or 0.10 per cent, to 16,651.45. The biggest gain of one per cent in the Sensex was in Reliance Industries. In addition, HCL Tech, Bajaj Finserv, Asian Paints, Bajaj Auto, Bajaj Finance and L&T were among the major beneficiaries. On the other hand, Indian Airtel, Powergrid, Maruti, Titan and Axis Bank declined.
