In the residential wings of Punjab State Institute of Sports (PIS) at Amritsar, Patiala, Mohali, Bathinda, Ropar, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Sri Muktsar Sahib, Barnala, Tarn Taran, Sri Anandpur Sahib, Mahilpur, Phagwara and Dasuha. The program of trials for the recruitment of players for the 2024-25 season has been announced.

For the selection of players in different age groups in these wings, trials will be held from February 15 to March 19 at different places according to the sport and age group.

Sports Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hare said that under the efforts being made by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to make Punjab the leading state of the country in sports again, by identifying the talent of young players at the grassroots level, provide them with opportunities to progress. The trial system has been made more accurate.

He said that in the region where the game is played or popular, those places have been prioritized for the trials of that game so that maximum number of players can be a part of the trials. He said that the sport-wise trials for identifying the right talent will run from February 15 to March 19 so that the officials of the sports department can carry out the entire system smoothly under their personal supervision.

The details of the trials have been uploaded by the sports department on the department's website www.pbsports.gov.in where the players who are willing to give the trials can check the date and venue of the trials. Players have to report at 8.30 am on the day of trials.

The player giving the trial must be a resident of the state of Punjab and should bring Aadhaar card/voter card, birth certificate and two passport size photographs as proof of residence. TA/DA will be given to the players participating in the trials. will not be given
