SIAM auto manufacturers added 2.92 lakh passenger vehicles in February, 2023 due to strong growth in cars and utility vehicles. This is the highest sales ever in any February.
The Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) said on Friday that compared to 2,62,984 vehicles in February 2022, there has been 11 percent more sales this time. In the month of February, the sales of passenger cars increased to 1.42 lakh. In the same period a year ago, 1,33,572 vehicles were sold. Sales of utility vehicles, including sports utility vehicles (SUVs), increased to 1.38 lakh from 1.20 lakh last month.
Maruti Suzuki delivered 1.02 lakh vehicles to dealers last month. This is three percent more than February 2022’s 99,398 vehicles. Similarly, sales of two-wheelers also increased by eight percent to 11,29,661 during the month of February. 10,50,079 two-wheelers were sold in February last year.
Sales of motorcycles increased from 6.58 lakh to 7.03 lakh. Scooter sales increased from 3,56,222 to 3.91 lakh. Three-wheeler sales rose 86% to 50,382.
