AI for Construction of Rural Roads: With an aim to ensure rational use of public money for development works, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Monday announced the launch of ‘Artificial Intelligence’ (AI) for need-based construction of rural roads in the state.

While presiding over the meeting of the Punjab Mandi Board, the Chief Minister approved the introduction of ‘Artificial Intelligence’ for the need-based construction of rural roads in the state. He said that this step will ensure rational utilization of existing resources of the state besides ensuring high quality work of rural roads.

Bhagwant Mann said that this technology will revolutionize road construction by saving people’s money. He said that the state government has decided to revamp the infrastructure of the connecting roads by widening, strengthening and upgrading the rural roads across the state. He said that considering the importance of road network for the convenience of people, the state government has taken this decision.

Today, a meeting was held with the officials of the Punjab Mandi Board and a detailed discussion was held for the repair work of the link roads of the villages.

Mann asked the Punjab Mandi Board to ensure high quality of work as well as proper spending of every penny allocated for the respective project. He said that there is a dire need to strengthen and upgrade these roads to make it easier for people to and from rural areas. He said that these roads need to be upgraded to ensure smooth movement of people from villages to towns.

Chief Minister Mann said that while preparing the strategy for the construction of these roads, due care has been taken to give priority to the roads which have not been constructed for six years.
