The Punjab government has withdrawn the decision to dissolve panchayats. After this decision, panchayats have been restored. In this regard, the Punjab government will issue a notification in one or two days and withdraw the decision. All the information in this regard was given by the AG of Punjab during the hearing of the Chief Justice’s Court.
It may be mentioned that on August 10, the Punjab government had issued a notification regarding the dissolution of all panchayats. This decision was said to be in the interest of the people. This decision of the Punjab government was being continuously opposed by the opposition parties.
Due to which a petition was filed in the Punjab and Haryana High Court against this decision of the government and demanded to cancel it. It has been stated in the petition that the notification of August 10 is completely illegal, arbitrary and against the principles of natural justice.
