The prisoner who was brought for treatment at the government hospital located in Sector-32 of Chandigarh escaped after dodging the police personnel. The prisoner has been identified as Gagandeep Singh. He was brought from Ambala Central Jail around 1.30 am. He had swallowed glass in jail.
After which he was brought to the hospital in critical condition. According to the information received from the police sources, the accused was admitted by the police for treatment but after some time he pushed the policeman and ran away. He has jumped from the third floor of the hospital.
Let it be known that the Ambala Police has filed a complaint in this matter in Chandigarh's Sector-34 Police Station. The police have started action after the complaint. A case of absconding from police custody is also being registered against the accused prisoner. The CCTV cameras installed in the vicinity are being searched by the police. According to the recording of the cameras, the police are investigating where the accused has fled.
