The plane has left from South Africa, 12 more leopards will come to Kuno National Park tomorrow

The number of leopards in Madhya Pradesh’s Kuno National Park is set to increase soon. This time these leopards will be brought from South Africa. A special plane left South Africa on Friday and will land at Gwalior airport on February 18 at 10 am. A special C-17 Globemaster aircraft of the Air Force has left this morning to bring the leopards from South Africa.

The plane carrying the leopards will land at Gwalior airport at 10 am on February 18, after which the leopards will be taken to Kuno National Park by MI 17 helicopter. Veterinary doctor and cheetah expert Dr. Laurel will also accompany the cheetahs in this special plane. Ministry of Defense and Air Force have not charged any fee from Ministry of Environment for this entire service and this service is being provided free of cost.

After the plane lands in the country, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister and Union Environment Minister Bhupendra Yadav will be present at Kuno National Park to welcome the leopards.

This time, 7 male and five female leopards will be brought from South Africa. According to international standards, these leopards will have to stay in quarantine for 1 month in Kuno National Park.

According to the agreement between India and South Africa, 10 to 12 leopards will be brought to the country every year from South Africa for the next 10 years so that the required number of them can stay here. Let us tell you that earlier last year, 8 leopards were brought to Kuno National Park from Namibia. In which there were 3 males and five females. All these leopards are hunting by themselves.
