The murder of a girl who went to London a year ago on a study visa

Mehek Sharma, a 19-year-old married woman from village Jogi Cheema near Kadi was stabbed to death inside her house in Croydon (London). In this regard, the deceased’s mother, Madhu Bala, wife of Tirlok Chand, resident of Jogi Cheema, said that her daughter Mehek Sharma was married to Sahil Sharma son of Lalit Kumar, resident of New Sant Nagar, Gurdaspur on 24 June 2022.

She went to London on a study visa
His daughter had passed Plus Two and went to London on 20 November 2022 on a study visa. After this, the daughter’s husband Sahil Sharma went to London on a spouse visa a few months ago.

Mehek Sharma had transferred her education to Skilled Worker Work Permit and was currently working as a caretaker at Fabulous Home Care Limited. She said that ever since Sahil went to London, he was harassing her daughter. He used to threaten to kill her daughter.

The victim said that she was not able to contact her daughter. Later, he received a call from London that his daughter had been stabbed to death. London police have arrested a 23-year-old youth in this connection.

Madhubala said that her daughter was killed by her son-in-law Sahil Sharma. He has demanded from the district administration that arrangements should be made to bring the dead body of his daughter to India. On the other hand, SSP Batala Ashwani Gotyal has assured them of all possible help.
