The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court has extended the injunction on the petition filed to ban the film ‘Adipurush’. The High Court has summoned the film’s producer Bhushan Kumar, director Om Raut and Manoj Muntashir for the next hearing of the petition. According to the order, the three will have to appear in the court themselves.

The producer-director must appear in court

The Lucknow bench of the High Court has personally summoned the producers of the film, Bhushan Kumar, Om Raut and Manoj Muntashir. It has been said in the order that the three will have to appear in the High Court on the next date. Along with this, the High Court has also asked to form a committee of five members. Two members of the committee should be knowledgeable about Valmiki Ramayana to see if the portrayal of Rama, Sita, Hanuman, Ravana, Vibhishan’s wife etc. in the film is correct or not. The committee has to submit its report in the court within 15 days.

Corrected the sensor board

Even before this, a hearing was held on this petition in the High Court. Meanwhile, the court had said, ‘How many characters are there in Ramayana, who are worshiped. How is he portrayed in the film? This movie was released on June 16. If nothing has happened so far what will happen in three days, but we are hearing this even during the holidays. Some people say that he has been hurt by this film. There are some people who have not been able to watch the movie completely. People who believe in Lord Ram, Lakshman, Sita and Hanuman will not be able to watch the movie.

In the hearing held on June 27, the High Court reprimanded the Censor Board. The court had asked the Additional Solicitor General, appearing for the Censor Board, what was being done about the objectionable scenes, clothes and scenes. If we closed our eyes and said that the people of this religion are very tolerant, will it be tested? Is it a test of patience? This is not a propaganda petition. Did the Censor Board fulfill its responsibility? It is good that it is about a religion whose people have not created any public order problems. Here Lord Rama, Hanuman and Mother Sita are shown in their form.

Spare the religious texts

During the hearing held on June 26, the High Court had said that not only Ramayana but religious texts like Holy Quran, Guru Granth Sahib and Gita should be left aside, others are doing whatever they are doing. The court also showed a strict stance when the film’s producer, director and other defendants did not appear in the court. Now we have to see in which direction this matter goes.
