Instructions given to officials to bring speed and quality in development works

Local Government Minister Balkar Singh held a review meeting with Municipal Corporation Commissioners of different cities today at Municipal Bhawan Sector-35 Chandigarh and the officials were instructed to bring speed and quality in the development works.

During the meeting Balkar Singh discussed various topics with Municipal Corporation Commissioner Amritsar, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Patiala, Phagwara and Mohali. He sought detailed information from the Commissioner Municipal Corporation of Amritsar, Jalandhar, Ludhiana for the Smart Cities Mission. Similarly, besides Amrut-24×7 water supply and reuse of treated waste water, Swachh Bharat Mission- CBG. Reviewing the bio methanation plants, CDW waste management plants, heritage waste treatment progress and financial status of Swachh Bharat Mission 1.0 and Swachh Bharat Mission 2.0 etc. asked the officials to release the funds under which the funds are outstanding. According to the guidelines, it should be used in development works for the welfare of the people.

The Minister for Local Government emphasized the importance of expediting ongoing projects in various sectors, increasing transparency and accountability and ensuring optimal utilization of resources. The officials also presented their proposals for upcoming initiatives to promote all-round development of the state.

Cabinet Minister Balkar Singh said that the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Maan is committed to making Punjab a prosperous state. Accordingly, the minister advised the officials to work in coordination with each other to achieve this goal.

The Cabinet Minister said that the Local Government Department is working to advance the development agenda in Punjab. The main objective of the Punjab government led by Chief Minister S.Bhagwant Singh Maan is committed to provide basic facilities, clean and pollution free environment to the people of the state.

On this occasion, Local Government Department Secretary Ajoy Sharma, Director Mr. Uma Shankar Gupta, PMIDC. CEO of Apart from Deepti Uppal, Municipal Commissioners of Amritsar, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Patiala, Phagwara and Mohali were present.
