A terrible road accident took place in Khanna this morning. According to information, there was a huge collision between a school van and a motorcycle at the nearby village of Lopon. In this accident, a young man riding a motorcycle was injured and a child died. It is being told that a 5-year-old innocent child has died in this accident. While in this accident, the motorcycle driver, who was the maternal uncle of the deceased child, was seriously injured.
According to the information, the mother of the child who was sitting behind the motorcycle was also injured but her condition is fine. According to the information received, Taranjit Kaur, a resident of Khanna, had come to stay at her grandparents' house at village Lopon (Samrala) along with her 5-year-old child Yashraj Singh.
This morning Taranjit Kaur's brother Inderjit Singh was going to drop off his sister and nephew on a motorcycle. It is being told that as soon as they left the village of Lopon, a private school van coming from the front hit them hard and in this incident the innocent child Yashraj Singh died on the spot.
According to the information received, the van driver escaped from the spot after the accident. Police station chief Samrala Rao Varinder Singh said that the statements of the family members have been recorded and a case has been registered against the absconding school van driver and he is being searched for.
